What is Reiki?
Reiki
is pronounced (Ray-key) is a therapeutic therapy that promotes good health through relaxation, stress relief and pain
management.
Reiki was rediscovered in the early 1900's by Mikao Usui aka Usui Sensei a Japanese Monk;after he completed
a 21 day retreat on Mount Kurama. In 1922 he opened a clinic in Tokyo and treated countless patients with Reiki.
His compassion for people was renown especially in 1923 when the great Kanto earthquake devastated Tokyo. Thousands
of people were injured and grieving. Usui Sensei took the healing powers of Reiki to the people. The demand for
Reiki was so overwhelming that Dr. Usui outgrew his clinic and built a new one in 1925. The Japanese government honored
Dr. Usui by issuing him an award for helping others.
Reiki is the least complicated, truest and most effective technique for wellness.
It is an excellent compliment to Western medicine.

What do people feel from Reiki?
A Reiki
Treatment reduces stress and tension. Some say they feel warmth, cold, tingling, sleepiness, refreshment and or
a reduction in symptoms. Any one of these reactions can be experienced as the body is releasing toxins.
Everyone has a different experience during a Reiki treatment. Energy can be felt from the practitioners
hands. Heat or a tingly electrical sensation may be felt. A sense of peace and deep relaxation is
experienced.

are the benefits from Reiki?
Relaxation, pain relief
and accelerated healing from injury. Reiki aids in the reduction of stress and promotes deep relaxation and feelings
of well-being. It clears energy blockages and allows the body to return to it's natural state of health and vitality.
It also helps to increase the bodies self-healing abilities.
Reiki
can also be used to break negative thought patterns. It can support your efforts to break bad habits such as smoking,
eating and other addictions as well. It helps to reduce mental or emotional distress and aids in spiritual growth.
Many people
use Reiki for: Chronic pain, arthritis, stress, tension, healing from surgery, side effects of chemotherapy, side effects
from radiation for cancer, immunity improvement, obtain a sense of well-being, enhance peace in people who are dying and menopause.

What can I
expect during a Reiki Session?
During a Reiki
treatment, you may sit in a chair or lay on a massage table while the practitioner holds his/her hands in a different position
on your body. Each position is held for several minutes. Unlike a massage, the
client remains fully clothed during a Reiki Treatment. A typical session will last from 30 -90
minutes.
Other alternative therapies can also be combined
with Reiki Treatments.

Are there any safety concerns with Reiki?
No.
Reiki should not be used to replace necessary standard medical treatment. It is suggested that a client rest and stay
well-hydrated after the session.
